By all account last night's inaugural "Telling the Widemouthed Frog Joke" competition at the
Old Entomologist was a great success. All credit is due to the contestants for their enthusiasm, and to tigris and Another Kiwi for their vigilance in ensuring that no-one cheated by using the
Riddled Facial-Muscle Faradiser.
I had no idea that there was going to be a group event. It must have been a last-minute addition to the program.

The judges were unanimous in awarding Greenish Hugh the prestigious
Golden Ribbit (this being a tasteful gilded replica of the blender we normally use for disposing of the evidence after pithed-frog lab demos). Sadly, it turned out that he had not actually entered, but was merely trying to dislodge the skewer after an ill-judged attempt to eat a shish-kebab sideways.
Ah, that's what McGravy-tasse's "blender drinks" are!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the fellow in the brown, um, tunic? toga? did not care for some of the jokes.

ReplyDelete...probably just trying to catch up to Finland

ReplyDelete~
catch up to Finland
ReplyDeleteThat's an excellent table. I knew about Finns and Slovenians (who doesn't?) but where's Norway and Denmark in that list? And I think Belgium was sandbagging them: very promiscuous.

ReplyDeleteI once made a joke about the Irish airline flying Lockheed Constellations but I can't remember it now.
