  1. Just because you lot use your feet is no reason to get all hissy about it.

Besides, "handball" was already taken when we got around to it.

  2. Having clicked, I see you just want people to make fun of the team name.

    Best of luck anyway.

  4. As a fan of the Washington Redskins (*sniff*), I find the N.Z. team name outrageous!

P.S. How about the "AL-bin-ohs", herr doktor?

  5. We do not need pronounciation suggestions from people who elide the penultimate syllable in 'aluminium'.

  6. Imagine my surprise upon arriving in Ohio and finding that the nearby town of Newark was pronounced "Nurk" (alt. "Nerk", and "Nirk" is apparently acceptable as well).

  7. Well in terms of New Zild sports teams names, we cannot past the troubles that afflicted the NZ Badminton team The Black Cocks
Ha ha can't you take a joke etc. etc.

  11. The "All-Blacks" are an Aussie team, aren't they? Rugby or something?

  12. And you beat mighty Bahrain, surely the finest Muslim football country beginning with B.

If you pronounce 'masonry' as 'masonary' I will be forced to eat your brains.

I fear to even ask about 'nuclear'

That's the Aussie "Running Dogs" you're confusing them with.

New Zealand's N*cl**r-Free Zone legislation is so strict that we are not even allowed to type the word, let alone pronounce it.

We do not talk much either about the NZ cricket team (teh Black Sticks), but that is because the team is embarrassing, rather than the name.

  16. Black Caps, Herr Doktor. Thus we can make jokes about them through their name e.g. Flat cats, Blocked craps etc. The Black sticks is teh Hockey team, who win quite frequently, unlike the so-called cricket team
