Dixon was the first New Zealand painter to experiment with enamel on glass induction-heat stove-tops as a medium. Apparently it is an admonitory warning about the threat of global warming. His favourite motifs are endangered bird species and spaceships.
You can fry your breakfast directly on the painting or in a glass frying-pan.
We own one of his works but the Frau Doktorin is not well-pleased if I cook black pudding on it.
The term Sentinel Species signifies a group guarding the environment while acting as a harbinger of the condition of that environment.

You mean, like the canary in the coalmine?
ReplyDeleteNot as good as Kinkade.
ReplyDeleteNo, actually really neat. I'm enjoying the eggs.

ReplyDeleteI really don't think the birds stand a chance against the spaceships. What about dinosaurs?
Hmm, hard to say. Both spaceships and birds are fragile things, and while spaceships tend to lack the bird's maneuverability, it must also be noted that birds tend to utterly lack any sort of exo-atmospheric propulsion system.
ReplyDeleteOr lasers.
