And sinks his barbs through honesty

New Zealand's Finance Minister explains the outcome of his two-and-a-half years at the helm of the economy:
Mr English says the financial situation is much worse than that which confronted National when it first formed the Government
Overseas readers might be surprised by English's willingness to make this kind of admission, and his freedom to argue that it requires moar of the current policies (austerity and tax cuts!). They do not know the state of the Labour Opposition.
