An understandable mistake to make

The Unmercenary Saints Cosmas and Damian of Asia Minor should not be confused with the Unmercenary Saints Cosmas and Damian of Rome (July 1), or the Unmercenary Saints Cosmas and Damian of Arabia (October 17).

I'm fond of

Martyr Sabinian at Damascus

No information available at this time.

(and who's tracking the Unshitheaded Politicians - shouldn't be too difficult?)

Shame on all you people who have not yet adopted "The Unmercenary Saints" as the name of your next band.

Presumably the rest of the pantheon are Mercenary Saints. No wonder prayers are so seldom answered; they have to go past so many grasping hands on the way to the top, everyone raking off their share; there's nothing left of a prayer by the time it reaches God's desk.

Saint Cosmas is the patron of lip balms and various unguents.

"Suzziest"- a portmanteau of suzerain and fuzziest- more appropos to the more recent post.

A camel, which the saints had treated for its wildness, spoke with a human voice

So naturally everyone listened to the advice of some fucking camel before it spat on them.

But, but, but what if one of 'em was the patron saint of mercenaries?

Hmmm? What then, sez I?

I am not sure what is the treatment for wildness in this age of evidence-based medicine, but drugs are probably involved.

That would be a pancake of such fierceness and imbricated intercalarity that I am loath to speculate.
