Australia

My friends have been very hospitable.
However, the possums are scaring me.
Many people go missing in Australia, leaving only their shoes in the grass, and I suspect the possums.

Freakin Possums only want your scotch.

One night a few years ago I came home real late (~4am) and as I drove around to my garage the lights reflected in the eyes of a VERY large possum on top of the fence. Big nasty fucker. This was in the mid nineties when we had a number of carjackings, so I had wired a rig for a .380 Grendel under the passenger seat. Drunk and disgusted by the giant rat on the fence, I pulled the pistol, walked halfway across the lot and killed him.

Unintended consequences. The other side of the fence was a classic trailer park, perhaps the trailer parkiest trailer park in the history of trailers OR parks. Over the next couple weeks that damn thing STUNK, and the denziens of the trailer park just left him there. It was gross...

A .380 Grendel.

Sounds nice, though a "Godzilla" would work for me too.

Also: Do not confuse wimpy down under "possums" w/ North 'Murkin Opossums.

the largest about the size of a large house cat

Yeah, for values of 'Large House Cat' greater than 35 pounds...

I think that is $1000 worth of scotch on that picture.

The shoes are magnetic and stick to the bottom side of the Earth. Their owner has simply not tied the laces tightly and fallen.

Thanks for the 'splanation, McG. I'm kind of embarrassed now, because when I saw that picture my first thought was "my goodness, they sure do have lovely airport security lines in Australia"...

That description fits our Mrs Bigcat.

I think that is $1000 worth of scotch on that picture.

That would only be true if the bottles were all full and unopened, and I need not say how unlikely that would be.
