The former head of MI5 delivered a devastating critique of the invasion of Iraq today, saying it substantially increased the threat of terrorist attacks in Britain and was a significant factor behind the radicalisation of young Muslims in the UK.I believe I am quoting someone at Thunder's place when I say that every now and again one of the power lords gets their head out of their bum long enough to realise what is actually going on. Now we will wait until this has faded from memory and some other Head of Intelligence takes the wrong pills.

Tony Blair seems to find it harder to tell the truth than to lie. He has made a career of lying, even when it does not serve any purpose, perhaps in case a lapse into honesty set a dangerous precedent.
