Zen and the maintenance of art

Master Huairang took a brick and started to grind it in front of Mazu’s cabin.

Mazu asked, “Why are you grinding the brick?”

The Master said, “To polish it into a mirror.”

Mazu replied, "Master, did you not hear about the sale at the Riddled Trochophore larvae and Second-Hand Furniture Warehouse? Three-mirror dressing tables are half-price, all weekend! Free delivery, plus two koans and a sipunculid worm!"

I believe that demons have smooth faces and thus the brick mirror would have us all demonised.
Stick with the tried and true Riddled merchandise, my friends
