Waiting for Silent Godot Tristero's Empire

I was going to write a Beckett / "Crying of Lot 49" mash-up, premised on the parallelism between the conspiracies of happenstance in the former that prevent Vladimir and Estragon from ever meeting Godot; and the ramifying conspiracies and secret histories in the latter, which hint to Oedipa Maas about the existence of Trystero but prevent her from seeing it face to face. But then I received firm intimations that this would not be a good idea. So it is left as an exercise for the reader.

...if the reader wanted exercise, he'd get up out of his damn chair!

firm intimation => bloody intimidation, it's slippery slope.
