This Helmet Family Tree was most recently sighted at History Lovers Club, and before that at Daily Infographics. Morgan used it in a 1925 textbook on "Evolution and Genetics" (primarily as a way of pissing off Stephen Jay Gould), and it was distributed as a wall poster for a while, but ultimately it can be traced to p.47 of Bashford Dean's "Helmets and body armor in modern warfare". In 1920... the same year as a Max Ernst collage.Coincidence???
