Reduced to stealing from the Bulwer-Lytton Prize

The illustration depicts Herakles (clad in the skin of the Nemean lion) meeting Esau (clad in the skins of wild beasts).

It represents a scene from a little known tradition of Seleucid-era Levantine slash fiction.
