If dark sarcasm is banned from the classroom, then only home schoolers will have dark sarcasm

TBogg informs us of the plight of a family of Freedom Educators who are facing repatriation back to the socialist hellhole of Germany. And just as troths are plighted (every 4 hours, especially in hot weather, or they go off), so must one troth one's plight, and fortunately here is Todd Starnes of Fuchs -- determined that ignorance shall not lack for advocates -- insisting that it is the responsibility of the US to provide a haven for anyone from anywhere in the world where a dictatorial government is thrusting compulsory education down throats.
The fate of Uwe and Hannelore Romeike – along with their six children – now rests with the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2010 an immigration judge granted the family political refuge, but the Dept. of Homeland Security objected and argued they don’t deserve asylum.
“The Obama administration is basically saying there is no right to home school anywhere,” said Michael Farris, founder of the Home School Legal Defense Association. “It’s an utter repudiation of parental liberty and religious liberty.”
[...]
The Justice Dept. is arguing that German law banning home schooling does not violate the family’s human rights.
I am confident that a similar outpouring of sympathy and support -- religious liberty! Parental rights! -- awaits educational refugees from El Salvador and Guatemala where home-schooling is also illegal. Not to mention Albania, Brazil, China and Turkey.

What kind of Dumkopf would home school their kid when they could have Nena educate their kid?

Looks like it'll be another morning spent watching Nena videos...

I'm pretty sure you can keep your kids home in Afghanistan.

Need I remind you that the C.B.H. was granted residence (I think it was religious asylum when I first encountered the story) in the Netherlands until the FBI or some such dragged him back? (Own petard, to be certain.)

"'Love it or leave it?' Not anymore. You will stay on the plantation you were born on, unless drafted to put down insurrections on other plantations, and grin from ear to ear when massa passes by with his lash."

We've got plenty of home grown willful ignorance. We don't need to import any more.

Parental liberty? Hey, does that include the right to molest your offspring while they're at home being 'schooled'? I'm sure it would.

And beating the little buggers if they mis-spell 'hierophant'? What sort of authoritarian regime would want to prevent parents from exercising their rights to do that?
