The First Law of Thermodynamics states that a thermodyne may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm

The tendency to distort two unconnected fields of knowledge so as to draw a tenuous parallel between them -- and then to treat that parallel as a genuine insight into reality -- is the disordered thought of schizophrenics. Also of psychotherapists.

Sometimes this makes for splendid delirium, as when the psychologists got ahold of topology and (K)not Theory:

I had high expectations from Murray & McKenzie, for Medical Hypotheses has always upheld standards in the past.

But alas the paper is boring, with no diagrams, no coinage of neologisms and only one meaningless formula. Do we hear of the role of the Heat-Sync in transferring entropy? Do we learn how to improve the efficiency of the neuro-mechanical Carnot Cycle? Do we bog-roll.

Here's Žižek to show how it's done:
The Second Law states that the entropy of an isolated system must obey the orders given to it by human beings, because an epistemically-closed belief system spontaneously evolves towards thermodynamic equilibrium.

UPDATE: Bowhead whales improve the efficiency of their brains with the help of a heat sink, which is a 4-metre-long secondary penis in the roof of the mouth.

I thought that the First Law of Thermodynamics stated "Don't talk about the First Law of Thermodynamics!"

I have a friend who is always reading Lacan(and Zizek), and I find everything he says about it unintelligible. I figured it was a cognitively isolated system.

Well, sure, but that doesn't mean that quantumb mechanics DOESN'T prove the existence of god n shit.

Especially shit.

The quanta is the Poopon. Chromodynamically grey, typically...

You know what would jazz up that paper? Pictures of bikini girls with machine guns! Now, that's what I call SCIENCE!!!

It's not about the bike!

It'd be nice if we could blame it on the French intellectual tradition, but truth be known, Wilfred Bion was even more barking. You read the transcripts of Bion's psychoanalysis sessions with schizophrenics and it's not possible to tell which one is insane.

Cognitive isolationists are of no use in the psychic wars.
