Bees in Brooklyn have been going red! They have been eating the run-off from a maraschino cherry factory and in true modern industrial society fashion, it is an artificial coloring and the bee's honey tastes "like crap" according to Lindsay Beyerstein.
This is a public service announcement for foraging type folks in that area.

Hmm. Anyone investigated the honey near brewing companies? Or poppy fields?
Or near wallahs? How do wallah bees taste?
This is all I have to say about that,

hansp, Han Solo's spelling.
The Horror at Red Hook comes to mind.
In that area, I stick to spleen sandwiches.
I did, though, once eat some mulberries I found growing by the Brooklyn Queens Expressway... didn't think that one through too carefully.
WV- inerwimp... something a tough guy has to get in touch with.
OF COURSE urban bees would like a maraschino in their cocktails.
Probably tattoos, also.

I was vaguely thinking of writing a post some time about Tutu (Coriaria arborea), an interesting plant because (a) I was always taught that legumes were the nitrogen-fixing plants but the Coriaria genus has learned the same useful trick; and (b) it's feckin' lethal (of course when plants have plenty of spare nitrogen then they can afford to cook up lots of alkaloids), enough to nearly kill elephants.
So Tutu honey is no longer considered a Good Thing.
But now AK has stolen my, wait, wrong metaphor.
OF COURSE urban bees would like a maraschino in their cocktails.
I'd understand if the were in Manhattan.
Do you really want a comment about the colour preferences of bees? (teal, purple, etc.)? That would involve the Explaining Voice and it would all end in SHUT UP SMUT but really there is a large literature on the subject.
"Toxic Honey Poisoning" would be a great name for a band.
Do you really want a comment about the colour preferences of bees?
I think Jennifer would be fine with that, as long as you stayed away from the color blue.
Also, bees are not amused by spelling color with a 'u'. Seriously. Try to insert a 'u' in a bee and see where it gets you.
Clearly the zombie does not know the path to truth and B-U-ty.
McG is banned.
Good call.
