I wonder about the prevalence of...Stuff growing out of people in VS' imagery. Do you suppose she lives near an Army BioWar development center and doesn't realize that people actually very rarely sprout spikes from their faces? Or perhaps her friends have been having her on, gluing random bits of garage floor detritus to their heads before they visit. Now THAT would be funny, especially if they sustained it over years or even decades, but it would be kind of mean.
