'He is forging a head,' Keats said

It came as a great surprise that so many people would turn up to the auditions for the Riddled Amateur Dramatic Society adaption of Brain Dead (1990), willing to have their facial integument stretched over an ellipse in the service of the thespian art.

In other news, it turns out that people have consistent expectations about how politicians should look, depending on their position on the Left-Right continuum:
The most noticeable difference is in the mouth region: the Hyper Labour MP has a broader smile with strong dimples. Both MPs show their teeth, but the Hyper Conservative has a less pronounced smile. The Hyper Labour MP also has a rounder, softer face, the bridge of his nose is shorter and the region under his eyebrows is lighter.
Obviously candidates for political office need corrective surgery if they have the bad fortune to have a facial appearance that clashes with their party allegiance... the wrong eyebrows, say, or the absence of a rictus grin. Sadly, the New Zealand health system does not class this as an urgently-needed operation so they will have to start at the back of the queue. Instead it is elective surgery.

Left: Either the Labour spokesman for the environment, or a still from the 1541 version of Zardoz.

How else would you get a big stone head aloft?

Wouldn't it be funny if Zardoz landed on this thread?

Wow. "Rictus Grin" leads you all sorts of places. Found a photo stream that looks to be from Montreal, with this image:

Someone with Quartz Composer and some spare time could probably animate that bottom image [which is from here, by the way] so it vomits out a stream of guns.

That'd be pretty easy really...but I'm avoiding work instead of avoiding chores so I have to get home to do it.

Also, Roundheads: too easily-spotted to keep the Commonwealth?

the Roundheads (Right and Repulsive) ... were clean-shaven and wore tall, conical hats, white ties, and sombre garments. Under these circumstances a Civil War was inevitable.

The Roundheads, of course, were so called because Cromwell had all their heads made perfectly round, in order that they should present a uniform appearance when drawn up in line.

Besides this, if any man lost his head in action, it could be used as a cannon-ball by the artillery (which was done at the Siege of Worcester).

Well anyhow...

The Roundheads were known to have enticingly large foreheads.

The Cavaliers could also have been described as right and repulsive.

Didn't Mikey have some ideas about how to get new Tleilaxu eyes?
