The light shines out of me

This blogging business is a bit like solving a jigsaw puzzle. The pieces are spread across five decades and sometimes I have to walk a long way up the corridor to find the piece that matches the one I'm holding.

These two things seem to go together, and they were only 15 years apart. From Damon Knight:

...and Jim Woodring.
There is no need to get self-referential about it, though.

Hah hah.

The Joke's on you.

I'm taking SSRIs these days.

Anxiety? Desperation. Paranoid fear? All swamped in happy, sweet smelling puddles of Seratonin and Dopamine.

Well, perhaps I will load the shotgun. But only with buckshot - I don't think 12Ga slugs will be required, no matter what you present me with.

Besides, those bastards are wicked expensive...

From Thundra's link:
At first you might feel a slight sting as the fangs enter. Then, a tingling will spread throughout your limbs. But within minutes your central nervous system will start shutting down, culminating in convulsions, paralysis, and a suffocating death.

You have to imagine this in the voice of Vincent Price.

I like the side headline at Thudner's snake fetish article. "The smartphone of the future will be in your brain". What could go wrong?

AH, that explains the wrong numbers and the obscene crank calls.

The goatse guy said that when he accidentally swallowed his flashlight.

I don't think I could imagine it any other way.

I even add the maniacal chuckling at the end.

You kids don't know HOW LUCKY YOU are. We only had NON-SPECIFIC SRIs in my day. But did we complain? Did we bogroll.

Should read "The light pours out of me", obviously. Now I will change it just to make ZRM's comment seem meaningless.

I am a fucking moron for missing the obvious joke.

As if further proof is needed.
