1629 star-map, for the sky is actually
written in Chinese characters (as shown by Chinese astronomers long before).
It is only a matter of time before the ideologues in Beijing use this priority to announce hegemony over the sky, which has always been an integral, inviolable portion of the Chinese homeland.

So far, Mr. Thunder, the earth remains intact and unapocalypsoed. Careful reading of the Mayan literature now has us unsure of the date. Maybe they meant the 23rd or the 24th or some other time in some other universe.
Also and too there is debate about what the Mayans wrote do they mean "full sized life extinguishing thing" or did it mean "an unpleasant evening around at your Aunty Griselda's place when she goes on about how the Maoris and the socialanists are destroying this country."
