You fucked up... you trusted us!

A Kapiti "mortgage broker"* is accused of extracting several million dollars from clients through a combination of fraudulent promises and desperate pleas.
Her father comes to her defense:
I am not shifting blame, but it takes two to tango. If you want to keep your money in your pocket, you have to keep your brains about it.
Some people have made some awful mugs of themselves. Kerry is working her backside off to pay it back.
Marge, it takes two to lie. One to lie and one to listen.

* All she's alleged to have done is persuade other people to take out loans they couldn't afford and give the money to her to invest however she saw fit. I can't actually see how this differs from 'legitimate' mortgage brokery.

Well, I have always admitted that I am not the best at business concepts, and the idea of "being a good architect and designer who knows about urban planning and interior design" does seem to be a failure....

C'mon now. You can't expect aliens to have the same moral and ethical imperatives as humans have.

Maybe on the planet Kapitus they don't have a cultural taboo around stealing. Didja ever think of that? Huh?

Personally, I think we should offer her immunity from prosecution if she'll turn over the schematics to the FTL drive.

Who knows? Might be a major opportunity...

This is what we call a 'business model' in America. But you need to have enough money to pay bribes, I mean campaign contributions, to Congress to pull it off.
