A poem

You know, it's hard to write a love poem and then quite difficult to decide whether or not you should post it. I apologize to my neighbourhood for the last weeks of walking around muttering to myself.

It's Called Love.

You looked at me and in me
and I knew it was love.
Lightning strike love
That changed everything.

Made me seventeen again.
Nervously grinning.
Laughing at nothing, and everything.
While my past was king-hit to the floor

Later, the first searing kiss
burned off my shell.
I laughed and cried and
Loved you.

As you loved me.
The waves blending back
into each other,
strengthening and supporting.

So that now.
We are two lives,
with one dream
and a home in the world.

AK- let me just say one of the things I love about your poems is your ability to relay honesty. I never feel like my chain is being yanked... someone "trying" for a feeling... instead, I just read and enjoy... and most definitely feel.

You've got a gift.

Very nice, A.K. I guess it is hard to be honestly convey this emotion on an internet full of sarcasm and skepticism.

But you do a wonderful job of it.

Anyone else feel naked and uncomfortable in the face of this earnestness?

Somebody stop me from feeling something--fast! Need snark--STAT!

I'm truly impressed with your blog, guys. I feel like you're too literary and highbrow for a crude American like me.

Was it the horse sperm post, Lyta? That was teh zombies, and we don't seem to be able to get rid of them:)

in my case a thimbleful of knowledge makes up for a shirtload of ignorance, and googlicious is my friend. Riddled has something for everyone, I hope.We would welcome any contribution you wanted to make.
