Shooting for the stars

Ha ha, that jolly old Mikhail Lhaws brings his shootin' boots to the party. This sort of crazed bullshit is dangerous. I realise that I am an over-sensitive humourless liberal but that is just dangerous shit. A radio person shouldn't make jokes about shooting journalists because, even though some of them are a waste of time, some of them are not. Some have families and shit and they will, if of a young age, possibly be upset when Mum or Dad is shot at work.
Of course I should realise that Micturation Lhaws is a shock jock and makes a living out of his cheeky in-your-face-take no prisoners-piss liberals off-whore his arse out for ratings-style.
I just have that picture in my mind of an office after a shooting rampage with blood smeared all over the place and people screaming and I think, you know, are 2 ratings points worth it?
I guess sociopaths see the world differently than I do.
UPDATE: Laws off radio yesterday and today.

Well, gosh, welcome to American-style politics.

And I'm sorry.

Of course, when someone gets shot, it will be all ' lone nut" and :no one could have foreseen" and "we can't be held responsible for others' actions"

Suckbake Lhaws is going the "Can't you take a joke" BS line on his Twitter droolings
Tongue-in-cheek … it’s a simple humour but the number of people who prefer to take a metaphor, literally, continues to astound me.

For certain folk … Definition of TONGUE-IN-CHEEK … “characterized by insincerity, irony, or WHIMSICAL EXAGGERATION”

Fucking moron.

Teh crucial test of Lhaws's sense of humour is whether he can retain it when the specific journalist whom people are talking about shooting is him.

BANG!

"are you still alive?"

"Yes! what the fuck?"

"Oh. Sorry, it was a joke."

"A Joke? You shot me!"

"a jape, a jest. Look, can you stand up? If I could see you more clearly, I could be more explicit in my apology. Ignore the red laser sight you may see."

Alternate jokesters:

Come on, if it works in America, why wouldn't it work here?

He ought to see "The Fisher King." Been thinking about seeing that again, myself, soon.

Of course, sociopaths do see things differently from the way that people of conscience do--- it's not a choice they make--- they just don't have the architecture in their brains to support a conscience so are exclusively predatory by nature. If the guy is a sociopath, he knows exactly what is socially wrong with what he says and that's why he says it. He won't change, it's up to people who do have a conscience to remove him from a role in which he might incite violence in a sociopath or mentally person or a person of conscience who momentarily has their lizard brain humming so loud that they can't hear the wisdom of their limbic system.

They really really do. Isn't that WEIRD?

Actually, I think they're far more likely to be our CEO's and politicians.

Now, I'm sure that "sociopath" is a term that's thrown around entirely too much and I'm guilty of doing it as the next person. So, what do you call Teabaggers and teabagger types? Because they can't all be sociopaths but there is something deeply deeply wrong with them. It's gotta be some serious personality disorder. Smut, weigh in here.

Furthermore:

The second exacerbating development is more subtle but more important: the authoritarian mentality that has been nourished in the name of Terrorism. It’s a very small step to go from supporting the abuse of defenseless detainees (including one’s fellow citizens) to supporting the pepper-spraying and tasering of non-violent political protesters.

A lack of empathy or an utter inability to see others as human beings having the same feelings and value as oneself is a necessary, albeit insufficient condition of sociopathy.

It has long been my belief that people who speak casually of shooting or killing others have, generally, never been involved in acts of shooting or killing. They have no visceral sense of it - it's just something they see on detective shows on the teevee, and sure, somebody often cries, but it's a short scene, and then it's back to business as usual.

My father always hated the slang terms for killing - blown away, greased, zapped, tipped over, etc. - because he said if you were going to do it you should be able to say it, to acknowledge the enormity and finality of your proposal. I think this sort of thing is a manifestation of that, where we have all these people who have never been exposed to violence populating a society that has long been convinced that violence is the best approach to problem solving...

Thanks everyone. There is a second hand report that Associated Press people were told to be extra wary of strange folks in the building the day after Migraine Lhaws did his spurt on air.
I agree with Mikey's father. It is the main reason that we don't have toy guns in our house. That and th looks of bewilderment on other parent's faces. "But guns are just fun for boys"

I take it his radio station does not employ journalists, but in the event that they do, the lunch room should be an interesting place.

Enablers or admirers of sociopaths. It's better to walk on the right hand of the devil than to be in his path.
