Cities on Fire Flame

1. People like movies where mutant monsters lay waste to a city.

2. People like vigilante movies where some law-abiding citizen is pushed to the breaking point by one outrage too many while the cops stand by, and wreaks brutal revenge against those who have done him wrong (or her).

3. It follows by an ineluctable process of simple geometrical logic that people will like even more movies about a vigilante city that sets out after the perpetrators after its Sister-city in Japan is trampled flat (again) by Mothra or Ghidorah or Megalon, leaving a trail of dead monsters behind (and let's face it, these creatures are all in cahoots so it doesn't really matter which one you kill, amirite?).

Our script is even now wending its way to the New Zealand Film Commission and I have high hopes for generous financial support. We will see if Tom Cruise is available. I have no idea what "wending" involves but AK assures me that it is standard practice in the movie world.

Parenthetical Updates:
(1) Title changed to appease needy pedants.
(2) In comments tigris points out that an alternative choice of lead actor would allow us to use the title "City Come A-Walken".

I figure that we can borrow some little building maquettes from ZRM for the special effects.

Clearly, Peric's a Prepper and he's got all his spam and weapons and diesel oil stashed right there at the office...

Also captcha suggests "60 epurchen" but I think that is probably a few too many.

Oddly, I feel helped.

A username and password are being requested by http://bloggergadgets.googlecode.com. The site says: "Google Code Subversion Repository"

That was interesting...

That was interesting...

Yes. "Recent posts if blogger can be arsed" is being a fidgety widget.

I am also getting that message Mr. McGravitas. What is a Google Code Subversion Suppository?

I blame tigris.

What is a Google Code Subversion Suppository?

While one could be understood to think that it's where google puts the code it wants to subvert, "Subversion" is a source code version control system.

I blame tigris.

I'm glad I reloaded before posting almost exactly that same thing.

Another Kiwi said...

Yeah tigris , even though you used a capital "T", we know it's you. SUBVERSIVE!!!

tigris said...

Hello, it CLEARLY says "former website." I blame these guys

That is not a friendly message to confront random visitors to Riddled; might have to disable the widgets until they sort it out.

Yep, Make it so, Mister Clyde.

Thus, it is entirely appropriate. Random visitors to Riddled deserve what they get.

I didn't take it personally because I already knew you hate me you bastards, you'll see, just you wait.

Another Kiwi said...

WTF, El Manquécito can still post? One would question the filtering ability of the code subversion suppositories.

El Manquécito said...

I was gonna suggest reversion suppositories but w'evs.

All hail the power of cancel.

Also, two, tired travelers from the intarwebz who stumble into 'riddled' after searching for "phoneutria nigriventer bite" must be coddled or they'll go off.

That seems to have fixed the Subservsion Password problem.
So we have a "random post" feature but no "recent post" feature. I'm sure people will cope.

Another Kiwi said...

What? We have random posts? But I made a wall chart with the logical progression of posts leading to full monitization in 2016! This why my next post is "You know, maybe President Nobama is a Muslim Devil Baby"

"Fire?"
That is the problem with building this city on rock and roll, MB: it turns out to be a flammable foundation material.

Now if only the title could actually have little animated flames coming out of the top. If only...

Sadly, there is no Google Book Preview of "City Come A-Walken'" so I can't put up a screen-grab of Shirley's call-outs to BOC.

Extra bonus Faulkner points for use of 'ineluctable'.

I LOLed. I figured I would let someone else point it out though.

"Faulkner? I barely KNOW 'er!"

Can you at least tell us the pages of the Christopher Walken shout-outs?

Remarkable likeness of me at my work-table though.
