Identity Parade

Are you a false cover persona, split away from 'your' other personality (as a genetic soldier or programmed assassin) through MKULTRA / MONARCH techniques of drugs and hypnosis and trauma and memory implant? How would you know? These questions often come up during late-night shuffleboard sessions at the Old Entomologist, on account of Another Kiwi and I bearing such a close physical resemblance to Arnold Schwartzenegger in his Douglas Quaid role and Matt Damon in the Jason Bourne franchise, respectively.

In that connection, it may be that you are unfamiliar with any of the dissociated personalities of Fiona Barnett, a West-Island griefer and victim of Attention Deficit. Despite her eagerness to tell you at great length about the Satanic Ritual torment she endured from her family and the rest of their Satanic Illuminati network -- designed to splinter her personality and train her Alters to be genetic-elite Delta Special Ops, working in the cause of the Derp State. I am not making this up.

Subsequently Fiona escaped from the cult and reintegrated those Alters enough to recover the dissociated memories of rape by Richard Nixon and Billy Graham... also Gough Whitlam and Bob Hawke (not at the same time)... the human sacrifices to Dagon and Moloch and Baal (not at the same time), and the slaughtered children and the cannibal feasts.... not to mention the thousands of kilometers of secret underground railways beneath the Australian desert, all the way to Pine Gap. I am not convinced that her Recovered-Memory therapy is really helping. However, it did make her a star in the Crank-Magnetised conspiracy-conglomerate zone of the alt-reality Youbtuba (though there is tough competition from up-and-coming young griefers with even more creative tales of trauma, and crowd-funding accounts of their own, so she should not rest on her laurels).
Not the ITNJ
In particular, Fiona brought herself to the attention of the courtroom-LARPers of the 'International Tribunal of Natural Justice' (previously covered at Riddled, your one-stop shop for background research!), i.e. a charivari of charlatans who piggyback on other people's fabrications. Now I had thought that even the shameless ITNJ scammers would have examined her plagiarised fabulation and thought "No, let's save our limited supply of credibility and not waste credence on this bullshitting fuckwit"... but I guess they know their target of donation-button suckers better than I do. Hark, then, to Fiona's "virtual hearing" testimony (i.e. a Skype session).

Chosen for her particular bloodline, high cognitive abilities and physical prowess, Fiona was a perfect subject for MK ULTRA mind control programming, which took place in numerous universities and underground facilities both in Australia and abroad. Other nightmarish crimes perpetrated upon her throughout her childhood include ritual abuse, torture, the witness of torture and murder, being dressed as a teddy bear whilst hunted for sport at the annual camp at ‘The Bohemian Grove.’
Fiona Barnett’s testimony provides a very clear and detailed picture of global child trafficking, which, she explains, “is run as a single coordinated operation through the CIA in collaboration with British and Australian Intelligence Services.”
In her testimony, she interweaves her personal account with a vast research-knowledge of the history, practices and interconnection between intel-agency child trafficking, Luciferianism, ritual abuse, and MK ULTRA mind control, all of which she witnessed and suffered at the hands of.
Fiona was eventually able to escape the cult and has since made numerous attempts to have her perpetrators brought to justice. Her story has been publicly derided and she has been prevented from leading any semblance of a normal life.
Her testimony was heard via a virtual sitting of the ITNJ’s Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Human Trafficking & Child Sex Abuse on 7th July, 2018, before Chief Justice, Dr. John Walsh of Brannagh, His Grace Bishop Riah Abu El Assal, ITNJ Commissioner Carine Hutsebaut, and ITNJ Trustees Reverend Dr. Nancy Ash and Connie Broussard.
Now I want a comedy series about a Super-Secret Gubblement / Luciferian agency, tasked with tracking the Elite Bloodline families so they can traumatise / brainwash the children thereof and mold them into super-intelligent super-fit warriors. Only the agency is rife with bureaucratic bumbling and sheer incompetence, so they muddle the files and end up recruiting Adelaide trailer-trash instead.

Ms Barnett's anamnesis belongs to a substantial, evolving literary tradition, which began with Philip K. Dick (so I choose to believe), with his drugged-out paranoia plots, and his feelings of inauthentic selfhood. "The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag" does not count because reasons. PKD's protagonists are always discovering that their memories are as spurious as their personalities... all implanted as a mask for a real identity that for some reason wanted to remain in concealment. This is now standard procedure for anyone retiring from covert intelligence agencies, or so I hear from a friend.

However, a significant landmark along the development of the genre was "The Control of Candy Jones", in 1976. Candy Jones' age-regressed memory-crafting was directed under hypnosis by her husband, who would have been aware of PKD's oeuvre through his day job as conspiracy-monger, as a pre-Alex Jones radio host. The conventions of the genre were still crystallising at the time, so Candy was only able to remember her alternative CIA-constructed personality to be an interrogation-proof spy courier, rather than an elite assassin or soldier. Also her narrative missed out the existence and details of MK-ULTRA (later retconned into the genre) because the program had not been publicised by 1976.

I am glad to report that Fiona Barnett recognises her source, and she pays homage to it by choosing "Candy Girl" as the title for the documentary / dramatisation that will some day be made about her life. No-one tell her about Colin Ross or Project Bluebird, or they will be woven into the mythos as well.

The 1920 peak of interest in MPD can be ascribed to
belated interest in Morton Prince' 1906 case-study

“Michelle Remembers” (1980; ably reviewed by El Coyote over at Hoaxtead) introduced its own twist of Satanic family ritual abuse as the rationale for the multiple-personality plot device. In fact "Michelle Remembers" is an offshoot of a second fictional tradition, which had been developing in parallel... the whole "childhood trauma = multiple personalities" genre, in which "Three Faces of Eve" begat "Sybil" begat "The Minds of Billy Mulligan" begat “When Rabbit Howls”. The line of descent is notable for the increasing number of Alters and the increasing severity of the triggering trauma, as literary conventions evolved and each author had to out-do previous imaginations. This MPD cultural phenomenon is a long-standing Riddled radition but it is far from exclusive to Riddled.

At some point the streams crossed. and the MKULTRA / BLUEBIRD literary thread merged with the Satanic Ritual Abuse belief-system in the maggot-ridden minds of conspiracy fans. The paranoid-ideation crowd are now unclear whether the engineers of the Dissociated-Personality Programmed Operatives are the Satanic Ritual Cults, or the Covert Gubblement Agencies... in fact the two are the same.
That's how we get ants Fiona Barnett.

In line with the old Riddled adage that one should always leave the reader wanting less, there was going to be a few more paragraphs here about Rachel McIntyre / Vaughan, who is one of the young challengers to Fiona's crown as Queen of the Fantasist Griefers. TL;DW. I might get motivated to write them tomorrow.

Update: IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROPHECY, those lovable scallywags at ITNJ have continued with their judicial-robe dress-up games, and a challenger appears! Bearing Bombshell Beaumont ITNJ Testimony Set To Shock The World! World, are you ready to be shocked?
From the high profile case of the ‘Missing Beaumont Children’ to the infamous ‘Mullighan Report,’ Rachel Vaughan steps forward with a raw witness account, exposing the horrors of murderous child sex abuse rings in Australia.
This witness testimony highlights the 1966 “Disappearance of the Beaumont Children” case in Glenelg Beach near Adelaide, South Australia, unresolved after half a century. It also raises serious concerns regarding the Mullighan Report, (a 600-page Royal Commission report of sex abuse against Australia’s children in state care over four decades) where the names of perpetrators were supressed and the truth locked away by the South Australian government for 80 years.
Rachel Vaughan’s testimony exposes her own father within a prime pedo-sexual ring, actively prostituting out his own children whilst conducting the murder and disappearance of other victims. Rachel grew up in Edwardstown, South Australia. Throughout her childhood she was abused physically, sexually, emotionally, and spiritually. She now attests to high profile criminal cases, which also involves what is known as Ritual Satanic Abuse (RSA). This is a story of an entire industry involving government personnel, religious institutions, state departments, the justice department, a leading Australian television network, and the medical profession.
Rachel has put her life on the line to expose multiple murders and mutilations perpetrated by her father, whose organised pedo-criminal ring is allegedly still in operation today. Her testimony was heard via a virtual sitting of the ITNJ’s Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Human Trafficking & Child Sex Abuse on 1st August, 2018 before Judge-Advocate, Dr Chris Cleverly, Commissioner-Criminologist Carine Hutsebaut, and ITNJ Trustees Dr. Nancy Ash and Connie Broussard.

Rachel's contribution to the development of the genre is to implicate her father in every unsolved South Australian murder for the last 50 years (with her own forced participation), and also some that were previously thought to be solved (it was a cover-up!). The family dynamics leave much to be desired. She and her brother have enlivened the work of the South Australian Police by providing a series of shifting, contradicting, reality-conflicting accusations, since she recovered her memories in 2006 / 2007 (irresponsibly, I am going to speculate that therapy was involved, maybe even hypnosis). Fortunately Rachel kept a Ledger!
4? Sep 2007 — Phone call to, and conversation with, 21 Aug 2007 INTERVIEW with Annette Burden of SCIB, at Goolwa Police Station, detailing my sexual abuse and witness account of small child’s body as well as a man’s right foot in our Macklin Street bathroom 1977.
In a later entry Rachel says: “Sister Ruth saw 5 cadavers brought into our home in body bags [on that same day in 1977].”
2) the accounts of two witnesses (mine and Ruth’s) to the mutilated body of a young girl in Max’s bathroom 1977/78 (me at four years of age, Ruth an adult at 22 years of age) are being ignored by SAPOL (namely Paul Tucker of Major Crime)
One can hardly blame the police for being reluctant to investigate these reports, since they detailed how thoroughly evidence had been destroyed:
There was an incident where my father kept some of the body part of one of his victims, and put it in the fridge. He told me after pulling out this body part in the fridge that it was ‘for my mother to cook’. I was only ten at the time.
Aficionados of grand-guignol theatre can find more prurient details here, filtered through the lurid sensibilities of an American conspiracist and highly-trained dot-joiner, who tells us in passing that Rachel's fantasies must be true because they are so outlandish that "you can't make it up". And look here: another blog-post from the same Wake-Up-Sheeple website...
RACHEL. As I said, my father Max, who did terrible things to me, had a special interest in some of the children’s cadavers. He took some of their flesh and sold it as meat. I am quite sure many people knowingly bought it – they wanted it.  I also say it was cooked and served in our home in Edwardstown, SA. Yes, I and my parents and siblings ate it.
MARY. What was the purpose of this?
RACHEL. I don’t know.
MARY. Now tell me about your brush with “kuru.”
'Rachel Vaughn Interprets “Zombie Apocalypse”' is all about the artificial nature of prion diseases, and the plan to spread epidemic scrapie through Australia for zombification purposes by appealing to the cannibalistic cravings of Adelaide suburbanites. Also AIDS and cancer are genocide bioweapons, but you probably knew that already.

A follow-up article is promised, about the network of secret tunnels beneath Adelaide. I struggle to control my anticipation.

"Expired Curcumin Retraction" is my new band-name

We can blame Robert Louis Stevenson for the idea that ebullient concoctions only work if one of the ingredients is contaminated.
My provision of the salt, which had never been renewed since the date of the first experiment, began to run low. I sent out for a fresh supply, and mixed the draught; the ebullition followed, and the first change of colour, not the second; I drank it and it was without efficiency. You will learn from Poole how I have had London ransacked; it was in vain; and I am now persuaded that my first supply was impure, and that it was that unknown impurity which lent efficacy to the draught.
About a week has passed, and I am now finishing this statement under the influence of the last of the old powders.
When the passage of time and long alternations of temperature have wrought unknown and irreproducible mutations of molecular structure, then a repeat preparation may follow the exact recipe -- but if it uses fresh, untransformed ingredients then the outcome does not assuage the cravings for the original batch, nor reverse the degenerative bodymelt caused by withdrawal.

Arthur Machen reinforced the precedent and embedded it in the fabric of reality (for such are the workings of Narrativium and the morphogenic field).
So much for my personal explanation. You sent me, Haberden, a phial, stoppered and sealed, containing a small quantity of flaky white powder, obtained from a chemist who has been dispensing it to one of your patients. I am not surprised to hear that this powder refused to yield any results to your analysis. It is a substance which was known to a few many hundred years ago, but which I never expected to have submitted to me from the shop of a modern apothecary.
There seems no reason to doubt the truth of the man's tale; he no doubt got, as he says, the rather uncommon salt you prescribed from the wholesale chemist's, and it has probably remained on his shelf for twenty years, or perhaps longer. Here what we call chance and coincidence begin to work; during all these years the salt in the bottle was exposed to certain recurring variations of temperature, variations probably ranging from 40° to 80°. And, as it happens, such changes, recurring year after year at irregular intervals, and with varying degrees of intensity and duration, have constituted a process, and a process so complicated and so delicate, that I question whether modern scientific apparatus directed with the utmost precision could produce the same result.
Tainted Past-use-by-date Utopium

As the morphogenic field intensifies, the phenomenon finds its way into mainstream science... which was bad luck for Jiao et al. (2017).
the corresponding author ... notified the editorial office that the curcumin used in this study was expired at the time of use. The authors expressed concern that this may have affected the results of the MTT assays and microarray expression experiments reported in the article; they are unable to repeat the experiments at this time. Due to concerns about the validity of the data and results reported in this work, the authors and the PLOS ONE Editors retract this article.
In other news, I would pay many quatloos for a Stevenson / Poe mash-up novel, "The Strange Method of Dr Jeckyll and Professor Fether".

These are the first signs of sonic attack
You will notice small objects such as ornaments oscillating
You will notice vibrations in your diaphragm
There will be bleeding from orifices
There will be an ache in the pelvic region
You may be subject to fits of hysterical shouting or even laughter

The last time the Riddled Journal Club looked at Drs Klinghardt and Ruggiero's article-shaped claim-stake, carving out their territory within the Chronic Lyme Disease goldfield, it was Shooting-Fish-inna-Barrel night at the Old Entomologist.
Company logo: synchronised-swimming sperm
So the pointing & laughing was focused on the scammy, spammy nature of the "Science Publications" who extrude the 'American Journal of Immunology' [editors include M. Ruggiero] from their base in the United Arab Emirates.¹ Some secondary hilarity ensued from Klinghardt's method for diagnosing otherwise-undetectable occult Lyme Disease, i.e. by dowsing. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP... dowsing was rebranded as Applied Kinesiology in the 1960s, before Klinghardt -- who never saw a grift he didn't want to copy -- appropriated it as "Autonomic Response Testing".

Fish-inna-Barrel Tuesdays are not actually as much fun as they sound, because sometimes the fish shoot back if the vile Throgmorton happened to have stocked the barrels with archerfish. Of course similar problems arise on Picking-the-Low-Fruit Wednesdays when the fruit trees fail to cooperate.

Anyways... it was inevitable that hand-held ultrasound scanners would find a place as a theatrical prop in the advertisement for the RK Protocol, for they are a recurring feature in Ruggiero's artistic practice theragnostic cosplay. We have previously seen his discoveries that the humble scanner can diagnose autism (recording brain abnormalities that remain unnoticed by autism researchers, those purblind fools), and can facilitate snake-oil treatment of brain cancer, by relaxing epithelial-cell junctions to make brain capillaries leaky and let the snake-oil through. After hours his students and assistants brandish the scanners while they chase one another around the laboratory making Pew-pew-pew noises.

So this is the new breakthrough. It is a tenet of faith in alt-med circles that the wriggly little Borrelia burgdorferi spirochaetes of Lyme Disease like to sequester themselves within the cells of your tissues in Double Secret Probation -- inert, unnoticed by the immune system, therefore undetectable by the usual tests of antibodies or even DNA. But an internal ultrasonic caress will rark the little buggers up in the manner of earthworm grunting, driving them out from the cells to renew their rampage and undergo detection.

It is not entirely clear how the ultrasounds -- with a millimeter wavelength -- can interact with structure at the subcellular scale of microns, with such dramatic and preferential effect. And given the scanner's biological impact, one wonders at its blithe and cavalier use as a harmless diagnostic tool; it is almost as if Ruggiero is not in fact stupid enough to believe in its brain-melting, spirochaete-rousing pluripotency. But we recently saw a 1970s documentary in which ultrasound irradiation of the soil, meant for pesticidal purposes, had the unexpected side-effect of transforming the previously-peaceful occupants of Manchester Morgue into reanimated shamblers with an antisocial hunger. Perhaps a similar phenomenon is at work.
Below: Effects of scanner over-use

The RK Protocol continues with PCR testing of each customer's urine sample, to confirm the post-ultrasonification appearance of DNA from the previously-dowsed spirochaete. This task of bringing reality into conformity with the results of Klinghardt's ART-woo is outsourced to “DNA Connexions”, a Colorado Springs centre of proprietory state-of-the-aunt DNA-detection procedures. Owned by Dr. Blanche Grube, with a Dr. Christopher Shade as Lab Director. Grube also trades as Biocomp Laboratories at the same strip-mall address, where she purveys a
“blood serum procedure […] Biocompatibility test, a comprehensive report that simply states whether the dental materials are Highly Reactive, Moderately Reactive, or Least Reactive.”
She is further said to operate a dental clinic -- catering for clients who cannot tell the difference between a dental bridge and the one in Brooklyn -- where they can have their fillings replaced in the unlikely event that they are dangerously Reactive. Meanwhile Shade’s primary income stream is “Quicksilver Scientific”, part of the ecosystem of Mercury Detection clinics... there he sells mercury testing (plus the usual scammocopoeia of supplements, plus Hemp Oil), and commends clients to Grube’s dentistry if their amalgams prove to be leaching the naughty element into their bloodstreams. Sounds legit!

It may be that Klinghardt is merely hewing to the code of Professional Courtesy when he shares access to the suckers' wallets as widely as possible. He and DNA Connexions regularly appear as a double-act at Chronic Lyme scam-fests trade-fairs, but this does not establish that they have a mutually-beneficial business arrangement.

The paper says little about how to cure Chronic Lyme disease once it is diagnosed. The authors note, however, that Ruggiero's current nostrum "Rerum" showed therapeutic promise when used as a "positive control". As tested by dowsing. I am not making this up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. According to Ruggiero's erstwhile business partner David Noakes, writing anonymously at one of several hating books vanity websites devoted to score-settling,
There is nothing predatory about The American Journal of Immunology, and the journal would be insulted to read that.
I'll take that risk.
Of course Noakes would say that.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
With Chronic Lyme Disease it is difficult to know where to stop with the Updatage and the Out-takage. That is the trouble with esprit d'escalier... a single glass is never enough. I don't know whose idea it was to ferment and distill an Escalier, but if the consequent hangover is any guide, the idea was not a good one.

Anyway, this is as good a time as any to remember “Nordic Laboratories”, who pimp spurious blood tests for UK numpties who already know what they want to have and will pay good money for validation. Despite the Scandiwegian stylings of austere efficiency and rectitude, “Nordic Labs” are in fact one of several grifts run by an alt-health supplements-&-vitamins pill-mill in Sussex, while their Copenhagen address turns out to be a mail-forwarding service [upstairs from the amber shop and the Shanghai Chinese Restaurant].

The boss of the outfit gloated about the determination of his customer base of desperate griefers, how they go on shopping for tests until they find someone who will validate their self-diagnosis:
Chris Moore, Managing Director of Nordic Laboratories, ascertained very quickly that of the 100 or so patients in the room, only around one-fifth had actually received a positive laboratory test. Yet these patients are living in the tatters of lives torn apart by the symptoms of Borrelia infection and all of them had to seek (and fund) their own treatment because nothing is available on the NHS. He made the point that times have changed. Patients are now very informed and know a lot about their own health and are looking to their doctors for support, not dismissal.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nor should we forget the egregious Sin Hang Lee, who was pimping a magical PCR DNA test for Chronic Lyme before he branched into “detecting DNA in Gardasil” as a secondary income stream. So a few years ago a totally grass-roots organisation sprang into being, the Coalition Against Lyme and Related Borrelioses (CALRB), for the purpose of
hosting a symposium on September 16, 2014 at the State Capitol building in Hartford, Conn., to discuss new scientific approaches to Lyme disease testing and diagnosis.
A more accurate formulation might be that CALRB existed to bombard the Massachusetts legislature with press releases, themed around the need for more recognition of and funding for Lyme disease... and the need for more widespread use of PCR techniques to detect the elusive spirochaetes... specifically, Sin Hang Lee’s test.

Its job complete, CALRB vanished back into the quantum fluctuations from whence it came. Great was the surprise, then, when the President and executive director of CALRB (one Kevin Moore) also turned out to fill the role of “Media Relations Director for Milford Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory”… which is to say. he’s Lee’s press agent. While the domain for the now-vanished CALRB website had been registered by Jessica Vigliotti, Lee’s lab employee, and co-author on his mockademic publications.

There is something simultaneously impressive and depressing about the shamelessness of these people, and the lack of effort they put into hiding their trail of slime.

Or a husky at the leather's end

I had nothing to do with this new addition to the range of pizzas at the local brew-bar. It is as if they are trying to lure ZRM Blue Öyster Cult fans to move to the 'hood.

The choice may have been inspired by the regular presence there of an actual husky IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROPHECY SONG LYRICS.

Also there is gin on tap. Good news for Another Kiwi.

The Battle of SPION Kop

Smut burying a lede
István Bókkon is a colleague of Dr Michael Persinger (whom FSM preserve) of Ontario, friend of Riddled, so it was inevitable that he would provide some partly-baked ideas to contribute to the gaiety of nations. We have already encountered his unique and challenging views on "bio-photons" as a channel of intra-cranial neural communication. We allowed these to overshadow his equally non-doctrinaire theory that nanoparticles of magnetite are the recording medium of memories. Some would say that we buried the lede in that particular episode of the Riddled Encyclopedia of All World Gnowledge, but don't worry, we always cut the lede's head off first, and drive a stake through its heart.

The theory pursues a loose metaphor with magnetic tape, with the magnetic nanoparticles of Fe3O4 precisely aligned in the brain within cortical minicolumns, like the woven chain-link meshes of ferrite rings that formed computer-core memory in days of yore, recording engrams by way of physical displacement. Figure 1 (below) should make it clear how this works.
Fig. 1. Long-term memory based on the magnetite nanoparticles distributed in neuronal and astroglial membranes (see text): (a) cylinders represent neuronal minicolumns in the neocortex; (b) network that represent 3-D magnetic structures generated by self-organization of multiple astroglial magnetic fields; (c) biomagnetite distribution on neuronal and astroglial cells; (d) long-term memory based on single-domain magnetite distribution in the astroglial network.

If still confused, consult Fig ii instead.

There is an entire warren of rabbit-holes here, waiting to be explored, if we rely on the innate compass of our cerebral magnetite deposits to help us find our way out. For inevitably -- given the ineluctable workings of synchronicity, Narrativium and the Morphogenetic Field -- the idea has been repeatedly re-discovered, and published in Medical Hypotheses, titled with blithe disregard for Betteridge's Law of Headlines:
There is some non-convergence of opinion between this belief system (with the precise alignment and self-organisation of the mnemonic magnetite), and another school of thought in which cortical nanoparticles are wont to wobble around in such unconstrained, uncoordinated freedom that exposure to the strong changing fields of a MRI scanner will send them all catty-wampus and higgledy-piggledy, to the detriment of the integrity of nearby neurons.*

This possibility is of more than academic importance if you are of similar mind to the Riddled Bioethics Division and Tullymonstrum Affiliations Working Group (every Thursday night at the Old Entomologist). Because if so, by now you will have wondered "Given a multi-Tesla MRI scanner and two ice-block sticks, how can I use them to access the magnetic memories of unwitting passers-by?" Magnetite particles are the smallest, quantised units of clandestine information theft, that is why they are also called SPIONs.

Some would worry that this entire scholium of thought depends on the assumption that our brains do contain magnetite particles, and all this rests upon a single quarter-century-old claim from electrosmog cranks that no-one seems to have replicated except other electrosmog cranks. Even Dottori Gatti & Montanari, Italian impresaria of nanopollutants and nanocontamination, have nothing to say about cerebral magnetite infiltration. The omission is suspicious and invites accusations that their frequent publications and general wolf-crying alarmism is just part of their cover and they are really in cahoots with the conspiracy to conceal the truth. Whereever Cahoots may be. Some say that it is a small village in South-West Ireland.

But fret no more, for we fired up the Riddled Scanning Electron Macroscope and focused it on a bit of Open Mike's brain that he wasn't using at the time, and there were nanoparticles aplenty.

In fact there were magnetic nanoparticles everywhere else we looked too:

The whole tradition can be traced back to 1984 when Lucius Shepard came up with the clever notion of training bacteria to deposit internal crystals of magnetite so as to be magnetotactic, and then acclimatising them to swarm and thrive in the usual bacterial manner but in a specialised environmental niche, i.e. recently-devitalised brains. It turns out that the side-effects of a nervous-system infestation of these bacterial symbionts include sensitivity to magnetic fields, experiencing a Magic Realism sensibility, access to alternative realities, being a reanimated corpse, and eyes that glow green inna dark. Italian translations of Green Eyes get the best cover art, no-one knows why.

But Shepard knew nothing of Class-4 Fictive Confinement Facilities to prevent fictional inventions from escaping into reality... which is how magnetotactic bacteria became a thing.

One of the many inadequate features of consensus reality is its absence of a cinematographic adaptation of Green Eyes. Over in the counterfactual timeline where the movie version does exist, let's just say that Nick Cage and Werner Herzog thoroughly deserved their Oscars.
